5 injured in Dailekh jeep plunge

DAILEKH: As many as five persons were injured after the jeep they were travelling on fell below the road in Aathbis Municipality-8 of Dailekh district on Monday night.

The injured have been identified as Dhan Bahadur Sijapati, Lal Bahadur Baduwal, Nabin Baduwal, Surya Bahadur Baduwal and Kamal Baduwal of Aathbis Municipality-9 in the district. Sijapati is the ward chair of the municipality.

According to police, the incident occurred when theĀ  jeep (Bhe 1 Cha 2148) en route from Syaulikandh to Chhepadi plunged around 250 metres below the road at 8:30 pm yesterday, critically injuring them.

The injured were sent to the province capital Surkhet for treatment, informed District Police Office, Dailekh. They have sustained deep injuries on head, eyes and face, however, the condition of the jeep driver is normal.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
