DHADING: As many as five persons sustained injuries after the bus they were travelling on, skidded off the road in Nilkantha Municipality-13 of Dhading district on Sunday morning.

The injured have been identified as Dal Bahadur Tamang (58), Hasta Kumari Tamang (69),Lakshmi Gurung (20), Chende Damai (60), and Shanta Maya Gurung (60) all hailing from Netrawoti Dabjong Rural Municipality-5 of the district.

According to the passengers, the incident occurred when the over speeding bus (Ba 4 Kha 5793) lost control and plunged some 100 metres below the road at around 8:30 am in Keramja. The bus was en route to Dhading Besi from Semjong of Netrawoti Dabjong Rural Municipality.

All the injured including two in critical condition — Dal Bahadur and Hasta Kumari  — are undergoing treatment at District Hospital, Dhading.

It has been reported that two passengers who were travelling on the same bus had alighted some distance before the incident site fearing accident because of the over-speeding.

According to Dhading District Police Office, the search is on for the bus driver and driver’s assistant who fled the incident site after the accident.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
