5 nabbed for abducting man to find eloped couple's whereabouts in Janakpur

DHANUSHA: Police on Monday arrested five persons on charge of kidnapping a youth from Bideha Municipality-8 of Dhanusha district.

The arrested have been identified as Shova Devi Das (55) and Ram Sufal Das (25) of Chakkar in Bideha Municipality-7 of Dhanusha; Nikesh Yadav (22) of Tarapatti in Mithila Bihari Rural Municipality-6 of Dhanusha; Esanul Rain (18) and Adam Nadaf (19) of Bhramarapura in Loharapatti Rural Municipality-6 of Mahottari district.

According to Dhanusa District Police Office, a group of four persons threatened and forced Kamaleshwar Das (24) of Bideha Municipality-8 to ride on pillion of a motorcycle at the Mahinathpur Railway Station in Duhabi of Janakpur district on Friday. Subsequently, he was taken to a room belonging to Adam Nadaf at Bhramapurachok in Janakpur. Further, he was transferred to another room belonging to Ram Chandra Das in Janakpur Sub-Metropolitan City-9 at 4:00 pm on Saturday.

However, victim Das managed to escape through a ventilation window in the room at around 3:00 am on Sunday and immediately informed police about the incident.

It has been learnt that a girl had eloped with Das's younger brother few days ago. The perpetrators were trying to learn the couple's whereabouts from Das.

Police arrested them and confiscated knife, saw and three sets of mobile phones from their possession while the search for two others involved in the crime is on.

A case would be filed against them relating with abduction and physical detention, informed police.
