Nepal to construct '5 new fuel storage centres soon'
JHAPA: Minister for Commerce and Supplies Ganesh Man Pun said that the storage capacity for fuel would be increased by constructing five new fuel collection centres in different places across Nepal soon.
Speaking at a press meet in Birtamod of Jhapa in eastern Nepal on Sunday, he said that the fuel supply would be eased soon.
Minister Pun further said that the petroleum products being received by Nepal from India were not sufficient to end the existing shortage across the country.
"We are getting only 70 per cent of fuel from India. We are planning to bring the remaining from China after signing a bilateral agreement," he said.
Pun further informed that a storage depot would be set up in Chaaraali, for which process of acquiring land has already began.
