5 vehicles set on fire in 2 weeks

Jhapa, February 28:

The Limbuwan cadres have set five vehicles, including two motorbikes, on fire in the last two weeks of the indefinite bandh called by the Federal Democratic National Front.

According to Jhapa district traffic police office, Limbuwan cadres torched two motorbikes on February 14 and February 25 on Butabari section of the highway.

The Limbuwan cadres had also torched a bus on February 18, a TATA mobile vehicle ferrying Kantipur daily newspapers and a Maruti van on February 24.

Twenty-six Limbuwan cadres were held for their involvement in destructive activities and on the charge of forcing bazaar shutdown from February 13 to February 28, Jhapa district police office said, and added that 24 of them were released.

Meanwhile, agitating Limbuwan cadres padlocked Jyamirgadhi Village Development Committee office in Jhapa today.
