BHIMDUTTANAGAR: A joint team of the Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force demolished more than 50 huts constructed encroaching land belonging to the Mahendranagar Town Development Committee of Bhimdutta Municipality-18 in Kanchanpur district on Tuesday morning.

DSP Kedar Khanal of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, said that the huts were demolished using force after the encroachers neglected the frequent request of local administration. The huts were constructed at an Eco-Park illegally.

Khanal said that the encroachers have also cut hundreds of Sal tress in the park, spread on 35 bighas of land.
