KATHMANDU, JUNE 9

About 53 percent of construction work has been completed on the western section of the Muglin-Pokhara road expansion project, according to the project office.

Work from Jamun (Tanahun) to the Seti Bridge (Pokhara, Kaski) has crossed the halfway mark. Project Chief Krishna Bahadur Kunwar said both sides of a 24-km stretch have been blacktopped, while one side of an additional 12.8 km has been paved. The remaining 3 km is expected to be blacktopped by mid-June.

Ten out of 12 bridges have been completed, and 92 of the planned 100 culverts are in place. However, delays in removing 424 electric poles in the section have slowed overall progress, Kunwar added.
