CHANDRAUTA: Police on Wednesday said 59 houses were gutted after a fire broke out at Shitalpur area of Shivaraj Municipality-10 in Kapilvastu district this morning.

Sitaram Liniya, has sustained burn injuries, while 25 goats were perished in the fire.

Police said that the houses of local Basar Miyan, Mansur Miyan, Satyanarayan Yadav and others were destroyed in the fire that started from the house of local resident, Mannan Miyan.

Meanwhile, locals along with security personnel and fire fighters contained the inferno around 3 pm this afternoon.
