66pc quake victims get housing grant

Hetauda/Khotang, July 16

A total of 66 per cent quake victims have received the second instalment of housing grant today in Makawanpur.

According to District Grant Management Unit, only 16,056 families received the second instalment grant money.

The district has as many as 32,066 beneficiaries. Of them, 25,286 families have signed the agreement for the grant while 24,330   families received the housing grant of the first instalment. Similarly, 7,948 families have received the third instalment housing grant.

Till date, as many as 7,835 houses have been rebuilt in the district, said   Unit Chief Somnath Timilsina. Likewise, as many as 10 houses at risk have been relocated to safer places.

Meanwhile, in Khotang, as many as 1,824 quake victims received the second instalment housing grant.

Out of 8,173 beneficiaries who have received the first instalment, 1,824 received Rs 150,000 each, according to National Reconstruction Implementation Unit Khotang District Project Implementation Unit Residence Management Office Chief Sagar Acharya.
