7 killed for human trafficking

JANAKPUR: Rumours of increasing incidents of human trafficking and abductions prompted several assaults in Dhanusa, Mahottari and Sarlahi on suspects by locals.


To date seven persons have been killed and 30 detained in connection with human trafficking and smuggling. A man was burnt alive in Bharatpur of Dhanusha and two were killed in Janakpur. Those arrested are of Indian origin and were yet to be charged in connection with the crimes due to lack of the evidence, according to the police.

Meanwhile two male babies Rabindra Thakur and Ajay Mahato have gone missing from Dhanusa. The search for the kids has been intensified.
