7 persons held with 30 kg hashish from Hetauda
HETAUNDA: As many as seven persons were held in possession of 30 kilogram of hashish from a bus-park area in Hetauda Sub Metropolitan City-10 on Wednesday, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, sleuths of Armed Police Force arrested seven persons including two Indian Nationals.
DSP Tribhuvan Bista at the Armed Police Force Hetaunda, identified the suspects as Hira Syangtan, Bikram Syangtan of Makwanpur district, Kamala Khatun, Saroj Patel of Rautahat district, Mukesh Sarraf of Raxwal in Bihar State, Nirvaya Singh of Lucknow in Uttar Pardesh and Kalawati Devi of Motihari district in Bihar of India.
Police also seized a taxi with Indian registration number used in the crime, and INR 33, 690 cash.
Meanwhile, DSP Bista said the suspects along with the seized items have been handed over to the Makwanpur District Police Office.
DSP at the Makwanpur District Police Office Bam Dev Gautam said the suspects would be presented before the District Court tomorrow and remanded to custody for further investigation.
It has been learned that, as of late, Indian Nationals have been involved in smuggling hashish from Nepal to India.
