KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 26

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 791,392 on Sunday with 730 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 761,154 with 1,279 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 11,096 with nine more fatalities.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 19,142 against 19,700 a day before.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 13,736 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 8,589 were PCR tests while 5,147 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,162,422 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 104 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 834.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 96.2 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

Currently, there are 230 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

The capital district holds the highest number of infections with 232 cases in the country. Kaski is second in line with 84 cases while Morang has 79 cases today.

So far, a total of 12,645,634 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 6,609,233 have received the first dose while only 6,036,401 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

Globally, over 232 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.7 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 208 million people have recovered while more than 18 million cases are still active.
