KAVREPALANCHOWK, OCTOBER 6

A total of 77 people, including one foreign national, have lost their lives, and 75 others have been injured in the recent flash floods that struck the district last week, according to the District Police Office. The floods have also left five people still missing.

Among the deceased, 33 are women, 28 men, nine boys, and seven girls.

The hardest-hit area, Panauti Municipality, reported 18 deaths, including eight women. In Temal Rural Municipality, 12 people perished, including eight women, three men, and one child. Roshi Rural Municipality saw 12 fatalities, including six women and four children. In Bethanchowk, 12 people, including eight men and one child, lost their lives. Seven individuals, including three women, died in Mandandeupur.

Assistant Chief District Officer Subas Paudel confirmed that search operations for the missing are ongoing.

Meanwhile, relief efforts are being extended to the families affected by the disaster.
