Pokhara: As many as eight persons were arrested on the charge of illegal gambling from a guest house in Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City-17 of Kaski district recently.

The arrested have been identified as Bhogendra Tamang, Naresh Gurung, Raj Kumar Gurung, Raj Kumar Shrestha, Dipak Gurung and Dipak Bhattachan of the district.

Police deployed under the Sweep Operation initiated by the District Police Office, Kaski, arrested them red-handed from the Florida Guest House operated by  Bhogendra Tamang at Damside.

Police also confiscated Rs 52,015 and four decks of cards from the incident site.

Similarly, under the operation, police have also arrested 46 persons and confiscated timber and five motorcycles.

Kaski police is also focused on checking crime, trade of illegal drugs as well as hooliganism, black marketing, said police spokesperson Khadga Bahadur Khatri.
