8K Expeditions, one of the country's largest adventure outfitters, has marked its third anniversary amidst an event in Kathmandu today.

On the occasion, the owners of the company shared that they paid more than 500 million rupees as royalty to the government within three years. "We have created more than 1000 jobs for local people by promoting Nepal as the best adventure destination in the global market," Lakpa Sherpa, one of the owners of the company, said.

The company has already contributed more than 500 million rupees as royalty to the government within three years while 8K has been listed as one of the best adventure companies in the country, Pemba Sherpa, co-owner of the company, shared.

8k has been handling mountaineering expeditions and running trekking and hiking activities in the Himalaya region. "This season alone, we have over 50 foreign clients attempting to climb Mt Everest and Lhotse and 15 on Ama Dablam, 10 on Kanchenjunga and 8 on Baruntse," Pemba said.

According to Lakpa Thendu Sherpa, co-owner of 8K Expeditions, they run trekking and tour to over 350 foreigners in a year. ""We have also been supporting the needy community under the company's corporate social responsibility," he informed.

Lakpa Sherpa, who is a professional mountaineer, profound rescuer, an artist and social activist, has spent more than 13 years mapping the Himalayas.

Pemba Sherpa is a passionate adventure lover who has dedicated almost 10 years of his career to the Tourism Industry while Lakpa Thendu Sherpa has successfully led hundreds of groups of international trekkers and climbers to different mountains above 6000m, 7000m, and 8000 m as well.
