9 houses gutted in Panchthar wildfires

PHIDIM: Nine houses were gutted and property worth millions of rupees was reduced to cinder in three wildfire incidents that extended to human settlements in Panchthar district on Monday.

The fire completely destroyed three houses of Ganga Bohara, Bimal Paudel and Jitendra Bohara in Syabrumba-2 in the district.

Panchthar district Police Office said property worth more than Rs one million was completely gutted in the fire.

The DPO said a police team led by Sub-Inspector Kaji Basnet has been sent to the site to bring the fire under control.

Similarly, the house of Prem Bahadur Tamang turned into ashes destroying property worth Rs 600,000, according to the DPO.

Likewise, a house and a cattle shed belonging to Purna Bahadur Khadka of Ranigaun-7 of Panchthar district caught the fire extended from a nearby community forest damaging property worth Rs 1.7 million, said police.

Similarly, the same fire destroyed the house and shed of Lok Bahadur Sambahamphe.
