KATHMANDU: At least nine persons were injured when a passenger bus they were aboard overturned in Chandrapur of Rautahat district along the East-West Highway on Friday.

The incident occurred when the bus (Na 4 Kha 7047), heading towards Birgunj of Parsa from Kakarbhitta of Jhapa went out of control and flipped on the road at around 3:30 am today, according to police.

All the injured who are receiving treatment at Chapur Hospital in the district are said to be out of danger.

Meanwhile, the Area Police Office, Chapur, has impounded the vehicle and are searching for its driver who fled the scene after the incident.
