90 pc work on Upper Tamakoshi completed

Ninety per cent work on the under-construction Upper Tamakoshi hydro project has been completed in Dolakha. This project is one of the national pride projects.

According to a project source, 100 per cent work on tail race tunnel, powerhouse and transformer cavern under civil structure has been completed.

Tamakoshi hydro project Spokesperson Ganesh Neupane said though the target was to complete 94.6 per cent work by the end of the last fiscal only complete 90.5 per cent work was completed till date.

Neupane said difficulty in transporting construction materials had delayed the project work as the

Lamosanghu-Charikot road section was under construction.

Neupane said Rs 34.64 billion had already been spent in the project and the cost would go up by Rs 7.43 billion.

Meanwhile, Upper Tamakoshi is planning to generate additional 22 megawatt electricity through Rolwaling Diversion.

The project had registered an application with the Electricity Development Department for licence, said Neupane.
