970 benefit in Pokhara free eye camp for drivers, helpers of public transport
POKHARA: As many as 970 people underwent eye check-up at a free eye camp set up for the benefit of drivers and their helpers of public transportation in Pokhara on Sunday.
The eye check-up camp was organised with the objective of contributing to minimise the likelihood of road accidents, on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee celebration of Himalayan Eye Hospital, Gharipatan, Pokhara and 100 years of the Lions Club International.
Twenty people of those who underwent eye checkups have been referred to the Himalayan Eye Hospital for advanced treatment.
Medicines were provided to 400 people and glasses to more than 300 people free of cost at the eye camp set up at the Western Region Community Hospital at local Prithvichok, according to programme coordinator Binod Dhungana.
