A different swearing-in
Chitwan, October 19:
Newly-recruited police constables took their oath of service by vowing to remain faithful to the declaration approved by the House of Representatives this Jestha before leaving for their places of posting today. Earlier, policemen had to take the oath of faithfulness to the King and the crown.
The policemen took their oaths of service at the convocation programme of the 162nd group of the Police Constable Basic Training conducted at the Mid-Regional Police Training Centre, Bharatpur.
Instead of the national anthem “Shreeman gambhir Nepali”, the tune of
the song “Chandai aau shanti timi,” sung by singer Karna Das was played in the programme.
Chief of the Mid-Regional Police, DIGP Hem Bahadur Gurung was the chief guest at the programme. Commander Nar Bahadur Gurung administered the oath of service to the policemen.
