A week on, sit-in seeking justice continues

DHANGADI: Eight days have passed since the Panta family and activists began an ‘indefinite’ sit-in at the gates of District Administration Office, Kanchanpur demanding arrest of culprit behind Nirmala Panta’s rape and murder.

Victim’s father, Yagya Raj Panta on Sunday asked the state to confront him and accept that it cannot find the perpetrator/s, if that is the case, while seeking state’s answer on when will it book the guilty.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Krishna Raj Ojha, the victim’s kin have not assisted in investigation of the incident.

Meanwhile, members of a citizen’s struggle committee and activists who have come to Kanchanpur from other regions are assisting Panta’s kin as the sit-in continues.
