Abductee rescued

MAHOTTARI: Police today rescued Laldev Yadav, chief of the Revenue Collection Office, Mahottari, who was held hostage for four days. Cadres of Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha Jwala group had abducted him while he was returning home from office on Monday.

According to Superintendent of Police Sanjayaraj Sharma, Yadav was rescued at Musahariniya area of Mukhiyapatti.

The police made Yadav public at a press meet. Speaking at the meet, Yadav said he was abducted as he refused to provide a donation of Rs 2 million. He was released without paying ransom, he added. But a source claimed that his son gave Rs 2 lakhs in ransom.
