Abductee's mother still hopeful
PATHLAIYA: It has been seven years since when no information has been acquired on the whereabouts of an Maoist-abducted Ramesh Magar, a youth of Dumarwana of Bara. But, his 64-year-old mother has not given up hope that her dear son will return home sooner or later.
Still today, Sukmaya -- the mother -- always stays out of her house till late night and sees far away, with a sheer hope that her son might be strolling towards home.
Ramesh, a painting artist, was forcibly taken away by the then rebel Maoists from his home in 2002 for no apparent reason.
"The more days are passing, his memory is getting more vivid," the loving mother says, adding, "Although I do some household chores, I always remember his face hoping that he will make it to the house one day."
"The government, concerned authorities and even the Maoists themselves have shown no interest in searching my son or giving information about his condition," Sukmaya laments. She said that she had heard that Nepali Army detained him along with some Maoist cadres a few months later the Maoists kidnapped him.
She, however, knocked on the door of various organisations and authorities to help find her son's condition, but in vain.
Now, her neighbors too are concerned as she is in a complete agony for losing her son. Neighbor Amar Darlami said, "She always carries Ramesh's photo and asks about him whoever she encounters."
Due to the trauma, she has also grown very feeble now.
According to Roshan Aryal, representative of INSEC in the district, seven families in the district share similar woe like that of her.
