About Governor Malla
DHANGADHI: Former village assembly chief and national assembly member of the Panchayat regime, Mohanraj Malla of Kailali has been appointed as the chief of Province 7. A resident of Kailali, Bhajani Municipality-1, Malla holds a master degree in political science from Tribhuvan University in Political Science.
He completed his bachelor’s from Lucknow, India. The sixty-eight-year old is known as an honest leader. He has been in politics for four decades. Formerly a member of Rastriya Prajatantra Party, he entered Nepali Congress on the eve of the second Constituent Assembly election in 2013.
He is now an NC Mahasamiti member. He served as a member of national assembly for nine years from 1980 to 1989. He was a village chief in Doti for a term and served as the Kailali district assembly vice-president and Tikapur Development Committee chairperson during the Panchayat era. He was also an advisor to the foreign minister. Though he contested elections four times, he had lost.
