MAKAWANPUR: Police on Wednesday nabbed an absconding felon convicted of attempted murder eight years ago.

According to police, Sushant Gurung (32) of Hetauda-1 was on the run since the District Court, Makawanpur passed a verdict against him. Makawanpur Court had sentenced Gurung to serve seven years in prison in 2010.

A team of law enforcement officers from District Police Office, Makawanpur led by Inspector Madhu Kumar Thapa intercepted Gurung while he was en route to Hetauda from Birgunj.

The accused has been taken to Bhimphedi Prison, officials informed.
