Absconding burglary convict nabbed, sent to Central Jail
KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police has arrested an absconding convict after nineteen months from Kathmandu.
Police said the 24-year-old Suraj Shrestha aka Chimpan of Hetaunda Sub-Metropolitan City-3 of Makawanpur district was arrested by a CIB team recently.
He was convicted of a burglary by the Makawanpur District Court on June 11, 2015, and sentenced to jail for 11 years eight months and 30 days and a fine of Rs 798,144.
Shrestha was on the run after the Court's verdict. He was arrested from Sano Bharayang, Swayambhu of Kathmandu on December 29.
Meanwhile, police presented him before the Kathmandu District Court to execute the sentence and subsequently was sent to the Central Jail in Sundhara.
