BAJURA: Police arrested an absconding man on the allegation of robbing social security allowance of a VDC in Bajura district for one and half years, from New Baneshwor of Kathmandu.

District Police Office of Bajura informed that police had arrested Bimal Shahi aka Tiger, of Jukot VDC-2 of Bajura district.

According to DSP Shyam Prasad Paudel, a team deployed from the Central Investigation Bureau had arrested him recently.

Meanwhile police have also intensified a search to nab Dipesh Jung Shahi, who was involved in the robbery along with Bimal.

The duo had robbed Gotri VDC Secretary Rajesh Rai Yadav of Rs 2 million and a mobile set on July 17, 2014.

A theft case has already been lodged against him at the District Court of Bajura on August 9 this year.

Earlier, the Achham District Court had convicted him in a similar case and sentenced four years and two months and Rs 24,000 fine.
