ACAP mission thwarted by snowfall

Pokhara, May 31

A team led by Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), which had set to find new trekking routes, returned from midway today due to heavy snowfall.

The team comprising ACAP, tourism entrepreneurs’ organisation, tourism workers’ organisation and media persons had recently set to explore new trekking routes to Doodhpokhari — a place of religious importance.

The ACAP is exploring new trekking routes to the place as the old ones are gradually being converted into motorways.

Earlier, the ACAP has explored trekking routes from Kaski’s Tangting to Lamjung’s Besisahar, Kaski’s Kavre to Sikles and Kaski’s Ramghai and Tadapani to Ghandruk.

“However, our team was forced to return from Sarangi Che due to heavy snowfall in the area,” tourism assistant, ACAP, Tek Gurung said. Doodhpokhari is a four days’ trip from the Pokhara-Sikles route.
