Janakpurdham, October 29

Sadbhavana Party leaders in Dhanusha have sought action against lawmaker Madhawi Rani Sah for participating in the presidential election against the decision of the United Democratic Madhesi Front.

An emergency meeting held under the chairmanship of Dhanusha Area no-4 coordinator of the party, Jagadish Mahaseth, today said Sah participated in the presidential election defying the decision of the party and the front.

“She has shown a disrespect to the Madhes agitation. Hence, action should be taken against her,” said a participant of the meeting, adding the meeting has also decided to ask the central committee to expel her from the party.

Sah had taken part in the presidential election held on Wednesday. Upon being asked for comments, she said she was not aware of the agitating Madhesi parties’ decision to boycott the presidential election.

Earlier, all four constituent parties of the front Federal Socialist Forum Nepal, Tarai Madhes Democratic Party, Sadbhavana Party and Tarai Madhes Sadbhavana Party had decided to boycott the presidential election. Of the 35 lawmakers of the front, Sah is the only one to participate in the voting for the President.
