KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 2
Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 796,618 on Saturday with 659 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 767,819 with 1,123 discharges logged today.
On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 11,157 with nine more fatalities.
The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 17,642 against 18,115 a day before.
As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 8,219 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 5,598 were PCR tests while 2,621 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,221,093 PCR tests have been carried out till date.
Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 208 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 867.
Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 96.4 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.
Currently, there are 239 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
The capital district holds the highest number of infections with 164 cases in the country while Lalitpur is second in line with 65 cases while Jhapa with 50 cases each today.
So far, a total of 14,042,888 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 7,694,609 have received the first dose while only 6,348,279 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.
Globally, over 235 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.8 million people have lost their lives to the disease.
Likewise, over 211 million people have recovered while more than 18 million cases are still active.
