Administrators ‘committed’ to 21-point royal agenda

Kathmandu, April 13:
The newly-appointed regional and zonal admistrators today expressed total commitment to the royal agenda concerning good governance and the need to restore peace.
Though the government has announced their appointment, they are yet to take charge as they have not been formally informed about it.
“The King has issued directives concerning peace and development. We will push the same agenda once we take charge,” said Lalit Bahadur Thapa, zonal adminstrator for Rapti, at the Reporters’ Club Nepal.
Adminstrator for the western region, Chetra Bahadur Shah, was of the view that the main agenda was to restore peace and ensure that each and every Nepali is free from fear.
Mahendra Man Byathit, zonal adminstrator for Mahakali, referred to the 21-point agenda issued by the King as something which would be the cornerstone of the development process.
He also stressed on the need to effect modernisation of agriculture. Byathit promised to draw up a plan relating to horticulture and vegetable farming to fight poverty.
Others who addressed the function included Dr Shekhar Gurung and Ganesh Sherchan, Bagmati and Seti zonal adminstrators, respectively.
