Two held with drugs
NAWALPARASI: A team from the Area Police Office, Gaindakot, on Monday arrested two Indian nationals with 42 kg of hashish along the Mahendra Highway. Devendra Singh, 37, of India’s Barahiya district and 25-year-old Santosh Singh of the same place had hidden the hashish in the car with Indian registration plates in which they were travelling, the district police office, Nawalparasi, said. — HNS
Maoists hold 3 captive
DOLPA: Maoists are still holding three people of Kalika VDC captive. Saroj Thapa, Pailal Singh and Dutta Bahadur Bohora were abducted by the Maoists during the dashain festival. One Bhakta Bahadur Thapa of Kalika-9 said the trio, who were Maoist cadres, was staying at the district headquarters after surrendering at the police office recently. — RSS
Traffic blocked
Itahari: Electricity consumers, demanding action against Nepal Electricity Authorities officials involved in irregularities, disrupted traffic for three hours on the Inaruwa-3 sector of the Mahendra Highway on Monday. They also set ablaze the chair of the office section chief. Enraged customers tried to vandalise the office on Monday also. — HNS
