KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) spokesperson Arjun Narsingh KC today said that Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal had deliberately attacked on the NC's institutional rights by promoting Sujata Koirala to the post of Deputy Prime Minister.

Speaking at a programme here, leader KC revealed that the NC's parliamentary party leader Ram Chandra Paudel had requested the PM not to do so but the latter ignored it. KC also said that PM Nepal turned down Paudel's request even as he had listened to and respected the request of Madheshi Janadhikar Forum's parliamentary party leader earlier.

"Till now the support was unconditional," he said, adding that the same is a "conditional" now onwards.

KC, however, said that the parties were flexible to end the present political imbroglio.

Speaking on the same occasion, UCPN-Maoist leader Dev Gurung echoed KC and said that modality of the common sankalpa prastav was yet to be confirmed.

"But the prastav should include our demands," he said. Gurung also revealed that the PM was invited to their tea party organised yesterday in the capacity of senior CPN-UML leader.

CPN-UML leader Yubaraj Gyawali expressed hope that the parties would soon reach a consensus. "An agreement over the language and content of the common sankalpa prastav has been reached." He also claimed that the three major parties were gradually being flexible for ending the impasse.
