‘Security plan aimed at 127 gangs’

HETAUDA: Home Minister Bhim Rawal today said that the Special Security Strategy introduced by the government was solely aimed at creating sense of security among public.

Addressing a meeting of chiefs of security bodies of the Central Region in Hetauda today, Rawal warned that those carrying out criminal activities in the guise of political groups would not be spared whatsoever.

Stating that the strategy was not targeted at any groups, castes and religions, he urged the political parties, civil society, human rights defenders and media persons to help security bodies maintain law and order situation and establishing peace in the country.

According to the minister, all political parties also gave their consent for the security plan which are basically aimed at containing the activities of 18 groups active in the Kathmandu Valley and 109 other criminal gangs active elsewhere.

“You just carry out the activities as per the strategy and create a sense of security among all Nepali citizens,” the minister directed.

In another context, he said the government had already drafted a proposal to be submitted to the Security Council so as to provide security for industrial workers.

The home minister, while speaking at an interaction in Makawanpur, said that the international intervention was increasing inside the country due to the deteriorating internal situation.
