At least eight French tourists went out of contact in Upper Dolpa region after they faced adverse weather conditions, officials have said.
"A Kailash Air helicopter has been mobilized to locate the missing trekkers in the region," an official at Nepal Tourism Board said.
In coordination with the Embassy of France in Kathmandu, Kailash Air chopper flew to Satara area and returned back to Dunai this morning due to bad weather conditions, officials added.
At least eight French trekkers who were a part of the Upper Dolpa trekking handled by Tribeni Trek were last seen in Saldang and Dho Tarab area, sources said.
Meanwhile, five persons including four British trekkers were rescued from Ragkot area in Dolpa this morning.
Similarly, a Sherpa guide who went missing in an avalanche at Larke Pass area of Mt Manaslu has been found dead, officials informed.
"Efforts are underway to recover his body from the area," they added. The identity of the deceased is yet to be established.
Search for missing two Sherpa guides has been hampered due to bad weather conditions in Dhaulagiri region, officials said. Two Sherpa guides who fell into crevasse in the French Pass area on Mt Dhaulagiri yesterday have not been found till this afternoon, they added.
