Afghan guard kills Nepali colleague, injures another in Kabul

KABUL: A Kabul official says an Afghan guard has turned his gun on colleagues, killing a Nepali guard and wounding another at a construction site near a UN compound in Kabul.

Hassib Sediqi says the shooter also wounded another Nepali colleague.

Sediqi, acting spokesman for the National Directorate of Security as Afghanistan's intelligence agency is known, says it's unclear if Friday's attack was planned or the result of a disagreement.

He says a third Nepali guard was injured when he jumped off the building that was under construction and where the incident happened.

The site is next to the International Organisation for Migration and opposite the UN Assistance Mission for Afghanistan. Many international agencies and embassies employ Nepali security guards.
