LAHAN: After the death of two United Democratic Madheis Front (UDMF) cadres in Saptari district, the cadres began protests and demonstrations  from early Sunday morning.

The two UDMF cadres had died in the clash that took place along Bhardaha-Rupani road section of the East-West highway in Saptari district.

The cadres have been demonstrating at Sahid Chok, Hospital Chok, Hulak Chok and other areas of Lahan by burning tyres and chanting slogans.

Markets and shops have not opened as of now with the demonstrations occupying the East-West Highway.

Reports of similar demonstrations have also been received from Gol Bazaar, Mirchaiya and other locations of Siraha district.
