DHANUSHA: A local journalist has been attacked by the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front cadres in Janakpur on Wednesday.

The UDMF had called Madhes banda to protest the announcement of the local polls date.

Radio journalist Shital Sah was attacked by a mob while he was returning to his office after reporting the picketing of CPN-UML leader Raghubir Mahaseth's residence.

Currently, he is undergoing treatment at the Janapkur Zonal Hospital.

Earlier, UDMF cadres had vandalised Mahaseth's house.

Similarly, senior leader of the CPN-UML, Bam Dev Gautam was encircled by UDMF cadres. Subsequently, a clash ensued between the UML cadres and the protesters.

Raju Sah and Kul Dip Sah of Sadbhavana Party were injured in the clash. They have also been undergoing treatment at Janakpur Hospital.
