NEPALGUNJ: Agitating Tharuhat cadres torched the office of Tripura Municipality in Dang on Wednesday.

According to the District Police Office, Dang, the cadres set ablaze the office at around 4 am.

Police said that the office was completely destroyed in the arson.

The Tharuhat/Tharuwan Struggle Committee has been staging demonstrations for nearly a month demanding a Tharuwan Tharuhat Pradesh incorporating Tharu-dominated areas in the southern plains of western Nepal.

Police said that they are looking into the case.
