Agro fair, tourism festival begin

A four-day agriculture fair and three-day tourism festival started at vegetable market in Banepa Municipality and Bihawar area of Panauti, Kavre, respectively today.

The agriculture fair started with joint efforts of Kavre Agriculture Market Multipurpose Pvt Ltd Banepa, Sambriddha Agriculture Cooperative and Prime Minister Agriculture Modernisation Project. Vegetables, organic manure, meat products, agriculture-related technology have been put on display at the fair.

Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sher Bahdaur Tamang inaugurated the fair today. Tamang stressed on modernising the agriculture sector to prevent money from going abroad. “We have to work to export agro products worth billions,” Tamang added.

Similarly, paragliding was major attraction at the tourism festival in Bihawar area of Panauti. Trout, bee honey, vegetables, fruits and agro products have been put on display at the festival. Panauti Mayor Bhim Neupane said that they were planning to launch commercial paragliding services.
