AI team meets Nisthuri, Pahadi

Kathmandu, February 16:
An Amnesty International (AI) delegation today met Krishna Pahadi, founding chairman of the Human Rights and Peace Society, and Bishnu Nisthuri, general secretary of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists.
“Pahadi reportedly informed the AI team that he was being treated well by the police. However, he does not have access to television, radio and private newspapers except for Gorkhapatra and The Rising Nepal,” said Rameshwor Nepal, deputy director of the Amnesty International.
Pahadi is held at Number One battalion of Police Headquarters in Naxal while Nisthuri is detained at a police station in Anamnagar.
According to him, the team is holding a press meet in New Delhi tomorrow concerning the rights sitution in Nepal and will make public its statement.
