KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 21
Additional Inspector General of Police (AIG) Manoj KC has been appointed as the new chief of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB).
The decision was endorsed during Sunday's Cabinet meeting, according to officials. KC, who is currently serving in the Provincial Coordination Department, will now head the CIB, Nepal Police's specialised investigative wing.
KC is widely recognised for advancing the investigation into the high-profile fake Bhutanese refugee scam, which implicated several prominent figures. His experience in handling complex and sensitive cases is seen as a key factor behind the transfer.
With this appointment, KC will take charge of major national-level criminal investigations, under a mandate that places the CIB at the forefront of Nepal's law-enforcement efforts.
