KATHMANDU, APRIL 26

Concerned authorities have stalled examinations in schools and colleges following the Sunday recommendation of Covid-19 Crisis Management Committee so as to halt the spread of new wave of the pandemic.

However, Tribhuvan University on Monday continued with the exams scheduled for Monday in its affiliated institutions.

Tribhuvan University, an autonomous institution funded by the Government of Nepal, on its part, had decided to carry on with Monday's examinations and has notified that further notice will be released later once a formal decision is made by the higher authorities in this regard.

The University stated that the decision to carry on with today's examination was taken following a discussion among the chair of examination board, registrar and examination controller.

The CCMC on Sunday had made a recommendation to the Council of Ministers to halt examinations at all levels, in schools and colleges, from Monday with a view to contain possible risk of further spreading the coronavirus infections.

With this recommendation, examinations that required physical presence of students were suspended. The authorities further notified that other classes can be carried on virtually or through other alternative medium, until further notice.
