All set for polls

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission stated on Friday that it had completed all poll-related preparations in all the 6,642 polling centres of 34 districts of Provinces 3, 4 and 6 that would go to poll on Sunday.  The EC said it had established polling centres in Dolpa and Manang, which have only 23 and 32 voters, respectively.

The EC said poll officials were distributing voter identity cards from polling centres. Spokesperson for the EC Surya Prasad Sharma said eligible voters could collect their identity cards, which were essential to cast ballot,  from polling centres until May 13.

He said those who could not collect their voter cards on time could do so on the polling day from the respective polling centres.

The EC has also been educating voters from 6,642 polling centres. EC officials, government employees deployed on poll duty, voter educators and volunteers have been educating voters when they come to collect their voter identity cards.
