Ambassador Pyakuryal presents letter of credence to Sri Lankan President
KATHMANDU: Ambassador of Nepal to Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Bishwambher Pyakuryal, presented his Letter of Credence to President of Sri Lanka, Mathripala Sirisena, amidst an official ceremony held at President's House in Colombo, Sri Lanka on Monday afternoon, the Nepali Embassy in Colombo stated in a press release.
Following the ceremony, Ambassador Pyakuryal attended a meeting with the President of Sri Lanka, Mathripala Sirisena.
The President congratulated Pyakuryal on presenting the Letter of Credence and expressed satisfaction over the cordial bilateral relationship between both the countries and further expressed that the trade relationship be strengthened in the days ahead.
Mangala Samaraweera, Foreign Minister of Sri Lanka was also present at the meeting.
Samaraweera congratulated Pyakuryal for presenting Letter of Credence.
He assured of full support from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka in discharging duties of Ambassador Pyakuryal.
The Sri Lankan Foreign Minister also expressed happiness over upcoming visit of Right Honorable President of Nepal to Sri Lanka on the auspicious occasion of UN Vesak Day.
On the occasion, Ambasssador Pyakuryal conveyed to the President greetings from the President of Nepal, Bidya Devi Bhandari, and conveyed the President's willingness to visit Sri Lanka shortly.
While expressing happiness over state of bilateral relations between both the countries, Ambassador Pyakuryal emphasised to further strengthen economic cooperation and collaboration between Nepal and Sri Lanka in the days to come.
