KATHMANDU, AUGUST 09

Ambassador Yubaraj Khatiwada has held an interactive meeting with prominent mountaineers at Rainier, Washington, on Monday.

Khatiwada discussed about high-altitude adventure sports attractions of Nepal and invited the US mountaineering enthusiasts to participate in mountaineering expeditions to various summits across Himalayas.

He shared that Nepali mountaineers, particularly the renowned Nepali Sherpa mountaineers, play important role in deepening Nepal-US relations at people's level.

Ambassador Khatiwada today held a courtesy meeting with Congresswomen, Pramila Jayapal, representing the electoral district of Washington at her office.

Ambassador thanked the US Government, lawmakers and the friendly people of the United States for donating 1.5 million doses of life-saving COVID-19 vaccines recently.

On Sunday, Ambassador Khatiwada held several promotional meetings and interactions in Seattle as part of the Embassy's economic diplomacy related programs. The Ambassador interacted with the representatives of Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), Washington Chapter, Nepal Seattle Society (NSS) and other local Nepali Diaspora community organisations and Nepali Entrepreneurs in Seattle and Oregon areas.

During the interactions, he highlighted the importance of people-to-people relations in further strengthening the longstanding friendly and cooperative bilateral ties between Nepal and the United States.

Similarly Ambassador Khatiwada on Saturday had inaugurated the Embassy's mobile consular services camp in Seattle, Washington.

He had held another interactive meetings with Nepali professionals and entrepreneurs working in Seattle and surrounding areas, including in major technological companies such as Microsoft and Amazon and highlighted opportunities for trade, tourism and investment in Nepal and urged the participants to join the development efforts of their country of origin.

The Ambassador thereafter was scheduled to hold more such interactions with local professionals, entrepreneurs and Nepali community representatives in Seattle during his stay in Seattle until 9th of August.

On August 06, 2021 Ambassador Khatiwada had engaged in a virtual meeting with the Association of Nepalis in Midwest America as part of his economic diplomacy related meetings and programs in Seattle.

Highlighting the recent reforms measures undertaken by the Government of Nepal to improve business climate in Nepal the Ambassador had urged the Nepali community to contribute to the development efforts of their motherland.
