KANCHANPUR: A 12-year-old girl was raped on Sunday evening at Bhimdattanagar-2 of Kanchanpur district, where 13-year-old Nirmala Panta was raped and murdered three months ago.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Krishna Raj Ojha of the District Police Office, a teenage boy had raped the victim at around 7:00 pm on Sunday.

The culprit has been held and kept in juvenile prison, said the police.

Eighty-nine days have passed since the brutal rape and murder of Nirmala Panta. However, the state is yet to even identify the perpetrator(s) – leaving a huge question mark behind the all-round demand for justice – making this case murkier as days pass by.
