RATNANAGAR: Ward Chair of Khairhani Municipality-4, Narendra Adhikari, who was severely injured in a road accident that occurred last night, died in course of treatment in Chitwan Medical College at 10:15 am today, police said.

The incident had occurred when a pickup van (Na 3 Cha 9840) heading toward Ratnangar from Khairhani had collided head-on with the vehicle of Khairhani Municipality (Ba 2 Jha 1344) at Shanti Chok of Ratnangar Municipality-3 in Chitwan.

Bishwa Bijay Basnet, chair of ward-5 of the municipality, was killed in the same accident that occurred at 8:30 pm yesterday.

Municipality vehicle's driver Raj Kumar Adhikari of Khairhani-12 is undergoing treatment at Chitwan Medical College.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway and search is on for the absconding driver.
