Antivenom dearth hits Snake-Bite Treatment Centre in Kanchanpur

KANCHANPUR: The Snake-Bite Treatment Centre at Arjuni in the district is facing a dilemma after it ran out of last stock of antivenom.

The Centre which came into operation two years ago with technical support of the Nepal Army is now unable to treat the cases of snakebite.

Administrative Board's Kul Singh Thagunna said efforts were underway to seek antivenom from donor agencies.

The Centre treated a total of 160 snakebite cases in two years among which 18 patients were treated after mid April this year.
