BIRGUNJ: Armed Police Force (APF) personnel have been accused of beating a local to death at Birgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-19 Thursday night.

According to locals a team of patrolling APF personnel intercepted 55-year-old Mojahir Ansari, who was on his way to irrigate his fields, and thrashed him severely on mistaking him for a criminal. Ansari later died due to the injuries.

Subsequently, enraged locals demonstrated demanding action against the culprits and appropriate compensation for the victim´s family. A five-point agreement was signed between the victim's family and administration.
